Adrian reportedly made it clear to West Ham that he would leave this summer if David Moyes had stayed and his ultimatum is toxic behaviour the club should not tolerant.

Estadio Deportivo reported on Friday that the 6ft 2in tall goalkeeper had previously made it clear to the club that he wanted to leave the London Stadium this summer if Moyes stayed on as manager.

The Spanish newspaper claimed that as the Scottish manager had left the London Stadium, it was now viable that Adrian would stay in the Premier League with the Hammers, instead of seeking solace in another club.

It’s easy to believe that the colossus keeper issued the Hammers with an ultimatum about his future of that nature, as a similar story emerged in April during the club’s intense battle with relegation.

The Sun reported at that time, that Adrian would force an exit if Moyes stayed on board as he had grown disillusioned at having spent most of the season behind Joe Hart in the pecking order.

However while, wrongly or rightly Moyes opted to keep playing the blundering Hart, it’s irrelevant.

The Hammers were suffering tough results on the pitch that were causing their Premier League status to be in jeopardy, and having players kick up a storm about their future when the campaign was still ongoing would have been beyond unhelpful.

Especially as Adrian wasn’t particularly unfairly treated, considering he was giving opportunities to dethrone Hart during the season.

Moyes regularly played the Spanish shot-stopper instead of Hart, from the end of 2017 all the way through to the game against Swansea City in March.

The experienced Premier League boss even risked putting Hart’s nose out of joint, by playing Adrian over him in the last three games of the season.

In total the 31-year-old finished the recently concluded season having paid 19 times in the league, which is plenty of games to suggest that Moyes wasn’t leaving him out of the team for any malicious reason.

The goalkeeper may not have liked his new manager for dropping him, but his own displays warranted being left on the bench, as he made mistakes just like Hart did in goal.

Therefore while Adrian may have got his wish for Moyes to leave, it showed what a toxic presence he could be, and this is why he must be chucked out of the club as soon as possible.
