West Ham handed their survival hopes another boost last night with Andy Carroll’s late equaliser against Stoke City, putting the Hammers seven points above the drop-zone.

There’s still plenty of work ahead of David Moyes’ side though as they seek to retain their Premier League status but the east London outfit are already casting one eye towards what’s likely to be a very busy summer window.

One area of focus is set to be at the forefront of the side, as West Ham are chasing a consistent striker who can fire them to glory- especially with Javier Hernandez’s future at the London Stadium remaining under doubt.

Fresh reports cited by Sports Witness suggest that West Ham could replace Hernandez with his compatriot Raul Jimenez, after scouting the Benfica striker during this weekend’s clash with Porto.

The Mexico international is rated at a whopping €50m by the Portuguese side but it’s suggested that a fee of around €30m could be enough to secure the services of the 26-year-old, who will feature for his nation at this summer’s World Cup.
