West Ham are set to significantly bolster their midfield options this summer and David Moyes’ side have received a huge boost in the transfer market.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims Andre Gomes, a reported target for West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur, wants to leave Barcelona and is keen on a move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

24-year-old Gomes moved to Catalonia from Valencia in 2014 after Portugal’s success at the European Championships and was initially touted as the heir to Andres Iniesta’s midfield throne. However, he’s struggled to establish himself with the La Liga leaders.

Gomes has already publicly admitted he wants to leave the Nou Camp and Barcelona, having captured Brazilian ace Arthur from Gremio, are likely to approve a departure at the end of the current campaign to balance their books.

Whilst Spurs could offer European football to Gomes, West Ham would be able to hand the youngster more playing opportunities in his attempts to get his career back on track.
