It’s no secret that West Ham boss David Moyes is looking to bolster his midfield and, with the Hammers now six-points above the relegation zone, he may cast on eye towards potential summer business.

A stern fight is expected in the market for a host of the east London side’s transfer targets and Moyes may be playing catch-up in the chase to land the services of a highly-rated Championship midfielder, who’s caught the eye this season.

The Sun states Leicester City are ready to make a £17m move to bring James Maddison to the club from Norwich City, as they seek a replacement for Algerian international Riyad Mahrez- who is surely set to leave this summer.

Maddison, a long-term West Ham target, has caught the eye with his performances this season, as the 21-year-old has scored 14 goals and registered eight assists in 39 Championship appearances.

Capable of playing centrally behind the striker or out wide on the right, Maddison’s versatility is another asset and he could be developed into a star, which would make a £17m fee look like a bargain.
