West Ham have plenty to be excited about following their 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge yesterday, as Javier Hernandez’s strike off the bench moved the Hammers six-points clear of the relegation zone.

That may have allowed David Moyes to cast on eye towards his summer transfer business, where there’s likely to be plenty of activity, and one name caught the eye again yesterday after being spotted in the crowd for the Hammers’ draw in west London.

Fulham captain Tom Cairney, widely named as a key target for Moyes this summer, was spotted sitting behind the dugout at Stamford Bridge- sparking further speculation that a £20m move across the capital could occur this summer.

However, quoted by Football.London in comments made in his post-match press conference, Moyes denied any knowledge of the talented midfielder being at the game.

“No idea, was he? If he was then it certainly wasn’t a ticket from us. I was hoping you were going to say Lionel Messi was sitting behind us!”

Cairney is also linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer, who had a bid rejected for the Scottish international last year.
