West Ham boss David Moyes has a stern task on his hands this summer as he seeks to rejuvenate his struggling side and major decisions have to be made on the futures of two loanees at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have the option of signing both Manchester City’s Joe Hart and Inter Milan’s Joao Mario on a permanent basis this summer, although it’s unlikely a swoop for the latter will occur after the Italian side made monstrous demands.

Claret & Hugh state that Inter have demanded a whopping £28m for Mario’s services, a figure that there is ‘no chance’ West Ham will meet due to the patchy performances from the Portugal international since January.

Mario has scored one goal and provided one assist so far this term, far below what Moyes will have wanted from the Euro 2016 winner, and the demands from Inter mean that West Ham will surely let the opportunity to secure a permanent deal pass.

Inter are hoping that Mario’s performances at this summer’s World Cup could raise interest in the 25-year-old’s services but it would take quite a performance for that to happen.
