Andy Carroll handed West Ham’s battle against relegation a vital boost on Monday evening, as the former England international came off the best to score a last-gasp equaliser against Stoke City.

The 29-year-old made his return from injury in the 1-1 draw with the Potters in his first appearance since early January, scoring his third goal of the season- and now boasting a record of three goals in his last three appearances.

That has provided David Moyes’ side with a timely boost, although David Moyes has revealed that the experienced striker isn’t ready to complete a full ninety minutes just yet.

Quoted by Claret & Hugh, the Hammers boss said:

“Andy has been training since we went to Miami so he’s had a couple of weeks of running. I don’t know about 90 minutes but if we can continue to get him off the bench for half an hour when required it will be more than handy, as it showed in this match.”

Carroll’s long-term future at West Ham remains up in the air, as he’s edging closer to the final 12 months of his contract.
