West Ham look poised to miss out in the race for a player they unsuccessfully made an approach for in January, as interest in the highly-rated midfielder in January.

The Guardian claimed in the mid-season window that the Hammers saw a £12m bid for Norwich City ace James Maddison rejected in January, whilst rising interest in the England U21 international has pushed his value towards the £30m mark.

Now, The Mirror claims six Premier League sides are chasing a deal for the PFA Young Player of the Year nominee, with Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Everton, Brighton and Southampton all keen on a deal.

Maddison’s 15-goal haul for the Canaries this season has seen him catch the eye and, alongside Fulham ace Ryan Sessegnon, the duo could be at the forefront of a new-look England side after this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

As such, it seems likely that West Ham won’t revive their interest as it would require a club-record fee to bring the talent to the London Stadium.
