West Ham face a crucial summer ahead as the Hammers will aim to avoid relegation to the Championship and then rejuvenate the squad with additions that can lead to greater stability in the coming years.

A number of deals, both incoming and outgoing, are likely to be completed and Football.London reports that young midfielder Martin Samuelson is likely to leave on a permanent basis during the close season.

Currently on-loan with Burton Albion, the 20-year-old Norwegian is on his third loan spell in recent years, having previously spent time with Peterborough United and Blackburn Rovers last season, it seems there isn’t a path into the first-team.

Samuelson has seen other young prospects promoted into the first-team frame ahead of him and has failed to catch the eye significantly in the few opportunities he has had in the senior squad, which likely means he’s surplus to requirements.

With additional signings set to be made in the summer, Samuelson will be pushed further down the pecking order and a move away from the London Stadium is reportedly likely.
