West Ham have struggled for form this season and now face a crucial eight-match end to their campaign, as they seek to retain their status in the Premier League.

The Hammers sit just three points above the relegation zone heading into March’s international break and questions regarding the future of a number of their squad are present, including that of veteran defender Patrice Evra.

Former Manchester United full-back Evra arrived in February on a free transfer and it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman will remain at the London Stadium for the long-term and Evra has remained coy on his future.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Evra said:

“I am someone who lives in the present. I always say ‘If you think about the past you can live with regret and if you think about the future you can live with uncertainty’ so the present is the most important thing.”

“I’m focused on the present. I am happy at the moment but we have a massive job to make sure we stay in the Premier League, and we have some big games still to come really soon.”

Evra has struggled for form since he moved to east London but his experience could be crucial in the closing months of the Premier League campaign.
