West Ham are seeking a major recruitment drive this summer but their business will likely depend on whether the Hammers retain their Premier League status.

David Moyes’ side sit just a single point above the relegation zone with seven games to play and a large portion of their troubles has come from a lack of consistency in front of goal, with joint top-scorers Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez hitting just seven each.

The Hammers are keen to bolster their forward options in the summer, despite only signing Jordan Hugill from Preston in January, and one man widely linked with a move to the London Stadium is St. Etienne forward Jonathan Bamba.

Poised to be available on a free transfer this summer when his contract with the French side comes to an end, West Ham face competition from Crystal Palace for his services but the 21-year-old has stated his future isn’t decided yet.

Speaking to Goalhe said:

“It’s still not fixed. I’m waiting and I hope it will settle down as soon as possible,”

West Ham and Crystal Palace find themselves in the same situation, with both clubs looking to secure their top-flight status before making an approach.
