West Ham have plenty of work to do this summer as they seek to get back on track for the coming years, after a disappointing two seasons following their move to the London Stadium.

The Hammers sit just three points above the relegation zone heading into the international break, raising the pressure ahead of the final eight games of the season- and major investment is necessary during the summer transfer window.

One area of the squad that certainly needs improving is in attack, where the Hammers have been overly reliant on club-record addition Marko Arnautovic, playing the Austrian out of his favoured position, and have seen Javier Hernandez struggle for consistency.

It remains to be seen whether the Mexican striker will remain in east London, particularly if sides in MLS reignite their interest in the forward, and West Ham need to look at bringing in a new player regardless of Hernandez’s future.

One player that West Ham certainly need to consider is Sevilla star Wissam Ben Yedder, who scored a brace in the Champions League this week to remarkably knock Manchester United out of the Champions League- handing the Andalusian side their first ever quarter-final at this level.

Now 27, the experienced striker is entering the prime years of his career and West Ham would thrive boasting a striker of his capability- whilst they could tempt him to join the Hammers’ project by offering a healthy contract offer.

Sevilla, sat fifth in La Liga, are 11 points behind fourth-placed Valencia and are unlikely to be playing in Europe’s elite competition next season, which hands a boost to the Hammers if they were to try and lure the French forward to the London Stadium.
