West Ham face a stern battle between now and the end of the season to push themselves away from the relegation zone, as they currently sit just three points above bottom three.

A 4-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield last weekend has seen the Hammers sucked back into the relegation battle and the significance of this weekend’s clash with Swansea City has risen, where a victory would provide a massive boost.

Swansea have overseen a huge upturn in form since Carlos Carvahal took charge at the Liberty Stadium though and will prove to be a difficult opposition, which is why the latest injury update concerning the Hammers is such a boost.

West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini has told the club’s official website that he’s feeling good ahead of this weekend’s tie, suggesting he could be back in the side again this weekend- after playing an hour of the defeat to Liverpool.

“I’m very happy to be back with the team, but I was not happy with the result last Saturday. I want to help the team now. I am feeling good. The recovery was very smooth and I think I’m ready to train hard and am 100 per cent fit.”

“Of course, I feel a big responsibility to the team, but I want this responsibility and I like it. When you have the number ten shirt on and you are one of the creative players in the team, you need to take this responsibility.”
