West Ham are continuing to look to bolster their defensive ranks in the summer transfer window and the Hammers are reportedly ready to take advantage of a potential bargain.

Reports indicate that West Brom defender Jonny Evans will be allowed to leave if the Baggies are relegated from the Premier League, which is looking increasingly likely as they’re rooted to the bottom of the table- seven points from safety.

Winning just three games all season, the Midlands side are sinking without a trace and Northern Irish international Evans will be available for a paltry £3m in the summer should the club drop down to the Championship.

The Birmingham Mail states West Ham will look to take advantage of the clause in the former Manchester United defender’s contract, although they could face competition with Leicester City and Everton, both of whom are also said to be keen.

Evans was also linked with a January move to Arsenal and Manchester City, with the former potentially reviving their interest at the end of the season as they look to replace departing club captain Per Mertesacker.
