West Ham are set for a crucial end to the Premier League season as they sit just three points above the relegation zone, following three consecutive defeats at the hands of Liverpool, Swansea City and Burnley.

The Hammers are now braced for a crucial run of fixtures following March’s international break, including against fellow relegation rivals Southampton and Stoke City, but a decision made by the club this week has attracted controversy.

West Ham have made a trip to Miami to take a warm weather training camp, though the timing of the trip has been criticised, and the club’s record-signing Marko Arnautovic told the club’s official website it has been hard work.

“The training has been tough, and this is not a holiday for us. We came out here to take some sun, of course, but I think this was like pre-season as the training was really hard. We are happy for this because we need to work hard and come back and finish the end of the season strongly. Until now, so far, it was not how we wanted it.”

The Hammers enjoyed an upturn in form between December and January, sitting 11th in the table, but have slipped down the standings in recent weeks.
