West Ham are set for a huge shake-up this summer as they look to improve upon what has been another disappointing season at the London Stadium.
The Hammers sit just three points above the relegation zone heading into this month’s international break, following three consecutive defeats at the hands of Liverpool, Swansea City and Burnley.
West Ham’s board have shown a willingness to change though, as they’re ready to appoint a Director of Football this summer, and the hope is that it will lead to a major improvement in recruitment- an area that has let them down in recent seasons.
A number of names have been linked with the role, although it’s not clear who is the favourite yet, but Hammers legend Frank McAvennie has weighed in on the situation and named his ideal candidate to take the position.
I like the idea of @WestHamUtd people who only want the best for the club and it’ll be more than just a job !! @TonyCottee9 for me ⚒ https://t.co/Rl9l0jmmTQ

In a post on Twitter, McAvennie backed former strike partner Tony Cottee to take the role and stated that it’s crucial the appointment cares about the fortune of the club.
