West Ham have been sucked right back into the relegation dogfight following Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to fellow strugglers Swansea City, which has left the Hammers just three points above the Premier League’s bottom three.
David Moyes’ side now have just nine games remaining this season to secure their top-flight status for another season and there’s growing concerns following poor displays recently, particularly on their travels, and major improvements are required.
Whilst the likes of Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Michail Antonio have seen an upturn in form during recent months, many of West Ham’s squad can be seen as underperforming and significant upgrades need to happen if the club are to avoid relegation.
Defensive injury woes are certainly not helping proceedings but the three players we’ve identified here need to take more responsibility and need to improve their form, otherwise the Hammers could be left plying their trade in the Championship next season.
