West Ham are prepared to hand Robert Snodgrass a second chance at the London Stadium following an impressive loan stint with Aston Villa, Football.London report.

The Scottish international was signed by the Hammers in January 2017 from Hull City for a fee in the region of £10m but failed to established himself in East London, leading to an exit prior to the start of the season.

In the Championship with Aston Villa, Snodgrass has excelled with a return of six goals and nine assists in 26 outings and the Hammers don’t want to sanction a permanent exit as they feel he could come good in the Premier League.

Turning 31 in September, Snodgrass is entering the twilight years of his career and there is plenty of bridges that need to be rebuilt if he’s to become a success with the Hammers- especially after David Sullivan revealed last year that his kids begged him not to sign the player.

It also stands as debatable whether West Ham actually need Snodgrass or whether the Hammers would be better off investing in a younger talent to fill this position in the squad.
