West Ham are set for a busy transfer window this summer as David Moyes looks to improve upon a squad that has been underperforming ever since the controversial move to the London Stadium.

The Hammers remain interested in Burnley’s Scott Arfield, a long-term midfield target, butĀ The SunĀ suggests that the Scottish boss could face competition in the market from those across the pond- as the MLS could be a potential destination.

Arfield has entered the final six months of his contract at Turf Moor and an exit looks likely, though Canadian duo Montreal Impact and the Vancouver Whitecaps are keen to bring him to North America.

The 29-year-old was born in Scotland but chose to represent Canada internationally, who he has made 12 appearances for since making his debut for the nation in 2016.

Arfield would be handed a designated contract in the MLS, which means he would be allowed to earn more pay than the salary cap, and it could appeal to the experienced midfielder- especially as West Ham could turn their attention towards other targets.
