West Ham’s transfer activity continues despite the closure of the window at the start of the month, with one veteran set to move away from east London.

The Daily Record states Jose Fonte is set to bring an end to his frustrating period with the Hammers by sealing a move to Chinese side Dalian Yifang, with the Portuguese international set to sign a three-year deal with the newly promoted side.

Fonte, signed from Southampton in January 2017, has been allowed to travel to Asia to close a deal after a difficult spell with the Hammers, where he’s made just 22 Premier League appearances since moving across the league.

Since being appointed as West Ham manager, David Moyes has not handed Fonte a single minute of first-team football and it’s clear the veteran is surplus to requirements, having been made available during the January transfer window.

Whilst no move was forthcoming then, Fonte is set to move to China this week and will see out the twilight years of his career in the Far East.
