West Ham may be sparked into action following the comments recently made by one midfield target, who was linked with a move to East London in January.

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has become frustrated with his lack of opportunities on the South Coast this season, regularly finding himself behind Lewis Cook and Dan Gosling in the club’s pecking order.

Despite this, Cherries boss Eddie Howe was reluctant to let the 28-year-old leave in the January transfer window, particularly to a Premier League rival, but Arter’s comments suggest that Bournemouth may not have a choice at the end of the season.

Quoted by The Daily MirrorArter said:

“When a player my age is not playing and someone who is desperate and just loves playing football, there comes a question over whether long term it is going to the right place for me,”

“Ultimately if I am not playing, there has to be a change — and I am sure the manager would understand that. If I don’t play between now and the end of the season and am a continued spectator then, naturally, there would a be a discussion.”

Those words are likely to have caught West Ham’s attention, given their recent interest in Arter, and Moyes’ side could make a move at the end of the season.
