West Ham are standing firm in their demands for one player who is surplus to requirements at the London Stadium, rejecting an offer for the striker.

The BBC reports that West Ham’s relegation rivals Swansea City have seen a £14m bid rejected for Ghanian forward Andre Ayew, with the Swans keen to bring the African ace back to South Wales.

David Moyes is happy to approve a departure for the 28-year-old before next week’s deadline but he’d prefer not to sell to a Premier League rival- and Swansea will have to pay a premium price for his services.

If a deal is to go ahead, Swansea will have to surpass the £14.5m club-record deal they secured in August 2016 for the services of Borja Baston and that puts a massive question mark over whether a deal will go ahead.

West Ham are keen to complete their own pieces of business in January, linked with a move for a new striker of their own, and a sale of Ayew would provide funds for that chase. However, Moyes’ side do lack depth in the attacking third.
