West Ham boss David Moyes is desperate to improve his side during the January transfer window, after struggling for consistency this season.

The Hammers have enjoyed an upturn in form since Moyes took charge, replacing Slaven Bilic, and a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Bournemouth has left the East London giants just four points above the relegation zone.

Moyes is keen to improve his midfield options at the London Stadium, having been linked with a number of names, and The Daily Express names two Premier League players that the Scottish boss is urging his side to sign.

Per the report, West Ham remain keen on the services of Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and also want to bring Welsh international Joe Allen to the club from Stoke City, though they’ll have trouble luring the duo away from their relegation rivals.

Newcastle may be willing to sell Shelvey for the right price, as Rafael Benitez is looking to raise money for his own January spending, but Stoke have made it clear that they do intend to lose the services of Allen this month.
