West Ham are being linked with a familiar name in the January transfer window, amidst reports that a Premier League giant have made an experienced striker available this month.

ESPN report that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is ready to listen to offers for striker Daniel Sturridge, who has made just five Premier League starts this season and is seeking additional opportunities in his quest to make Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

The 28-year-old has regularly been linked with a move to East London over the course of recent seasons and a transfer may now materialise, with West Ham looking to rejuvenate their attacking ranks- especially with Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho expected to leave this month.

However, the Hammers may face competition in the market for the former Manchester City and Chelsea forward as it’s stated that fellow strugglers Southampton are also interested in a deal for the striker- who is likely to cost around £12m, with the Reds aiming to recoup the fee they paid in 2013.

Sturridge’s injury record will be a concern to West Ham fans but his quality cannot be overlooked, with the striker having the potential to fire the Hammers towards Premier League safety.
