David Moyes is desperate to bolster his midfield options at the London Stadium this month and a number of interesting reports have surfaced, linking new names with a move to East London.

The Daily MailĀ states Arsenal’s Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny is on the Scottish manager’s shortlist this month, as he struggles to establish himself as a regular feature in the first-team in North London.

Elneny, who was linked with a move to Leicester City last summer, may well be allowed to leave the Champions League chasing side in January as Arsene Wenger looks to overhaul his underperforming side after they crashed out of the FA Cup third round following a surprise defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The African ace, crucially, has European experience following his spell with Arsenal and previously with FC Basel, which should provide a big boost to the Hammers’ ranks, whilst he’s also unlikely to be a player who would break the bank.

West Ham may need to move swiftly though as Arsenal’s plotted overhaul means that the departures of some players could restrict moves for others.
