West Ham’s busy end to the January transfer window looks set to begin with a departure of a forward who is said to have demanded an exit.

The SunĀ reports that Diafra Sakho has made it clear he wants to seal a move away from the London Stadium before the mid-season window comes to a close next Wednesday.

Sakho has become frustrated in East London this season, struggling for player opportunities, and has often trained away from the first-team, with it clear he is surplus to requirements, and he wants an exit despite the Hammers’ injury problems.

Andy Carroll and Marko Arnautovic have both picked up issues, whilst Javier Hernandez and Andre Ayew continue to be linked with departures of their own- which sets up a crucial few final days in the January transfer window.

According to the reports, a number of Premier League sides have expressed an interest in Sakho but West Ham don’t want him to move to a relegation rival- and the player himself would prefer to make the trip across the English channel to France.

The 28-year-old Senegalese international is looking for first-team assurances ahead of the World Cup and his most likely destination is Rennes.
