West Ham boss David Moyes is preparing for a busy few days to end the January transfer window and the latest reports suggest a significant move is being considered.

The Hammers face uncertainty amidst their forward ranks as Javier Hernandez, Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho have all been linked with exits in the mid-season window, whilst Andy Carroll has been sidelined through injury.

Moyes is therefore seeking potential recruits to bolster his squad in the final third and The Sun states the former Manchester United boss is considering an approach for Liverpool outcast Daniel Sturridge, in a deal worth around £30m.

Liverpool are keen to offload the England international before the deadline on Wednesday evening and West Ham could secure his services on-loan for a £5m fee, though they’d have to also agree a future fee of £25m.

The Hammers are prepared to meet those demands if they get assurances over Sturridge’s fitness, after a difficult few years for the experienced striker where he has encountered regular issues on the injury front.

Should those problems be behind him though, West Ham would land themselves a top-class striker who is Premier League proven and able to help the Hammers fire themselves up the league standings.
