West Ham boss David Moyes is keen to bolster his options at the club in January and his preference is to land players with Premier League experience.

The Hammers have struggled to find stability so far this season but have seen significant improvements since Moyes took charge at the London Stadium, rising out of the relegation zone following a crucial win over fellow strugglers West Brom this week.

January is crucial for the Hammers though as they seek to improve their squad in key areas and Moyes has identified the wide positions of his side as having room for improvement, which has seen him join the hunt for a highly-coveted experienced international.

The Daily Express states West Ham are the latest Premier League side to express an interest in Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, who has struggled for regular playing time this season and is said to be seeking an exit to improve his chances of making England’s World Cup squad.

England international Walcott has spent a decade at Arsenal but has never quite been able to establish himself as a key member of the squad, with his services now reportedly surplus to requirements due to the competition he faces.

Arsenal have the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud in attacking areas, all of whom seem to be ranked above Walcott in the North London pecking order.

A deal bringing Walcott to West Ham would likely be on-loan initially, potentially becoming permanent in the summer, but the Hammers do face competition from Southampton, Everton and Newcastle in the market.
