West Ham are set for a busy final few days to the January transfer window, as David Moyes seeks to bolster his squad ahead of the relegation battle that lies ahead.

The Hammers completed a deal to bring Joao Mario in on-loan from Inter Milan last week, with the Portuguese international making his debut off the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic, but Moyes is determined to make signings in other areas.

Ttime is running out though and fans have been concerned that their squad could be left looking slim for the remainder of the campaign. However, the club’s joint-chairman David Sullivan has promised additional players will be secured.

A statement on the club’s official website read:

“I have been made aware of reports suggesting that there will be no more players joining the club this month due to funding not being available. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

“The manager David Moyes has the board’s full backing in this window and, together, we continue to work night and day to bring in players to add quality and depth to the squad, despite January being a difficult time to do business.”

“We are undefeated in our last five Premier League matches and are working round the clock with the manager to do all we can to ensure this run of good form continues.”

Moyes has seen approaches for a number of targets in the January transfer window knocked back, including for Swansea’s Alfie Mawson and Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey, but there is hope that some deals can be completed this week.
