West Ham face a battle to keep hold of one of their most important players with reports continuing to suggest a Premier League giant will make a shock move.

The Telegraph states that Chelsea are still considering making a move to sign Andy Carroll on-loan this month, as the Blues seek support for summer signing Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea’s £70m forward has struggled with form in recent games and the Blues have endured three consecutive goalless draws across all competitions for the first time in the club’s history, the latest of which was with ten-man Leicester City on Saturday.

With Michy Batshuayi’s future in West London still up in the air, Antonio Conte is desperate to sign a new forward and a temporary deal for Carroll is still a possibility- although the Blues also have their eyes on Red Star Belgrade’s Richmond Boakye and Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke.

West Ham may consider an exit for Carroll, who earns £90k-a-week, but would likely seek a replacement in return, potentially Batshuayi, as it’s likely that Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew will leave the London Stadium this month.

The Hammers are also reportedly prepared to listen to offers for summer signing Javier Hernandez, who has struggled to find consistency after moving to the club from Bayer Leverkusen.
