West Ham are set for a busy January period as they seek to remain above the Premier League’s relegation zone, having improved their form magnificently in recent weeks.

The Hammers are now three games unbeaten in the league having secured victories over Chelsea and Stoke City, either side of a goalless draw with Arsenal at the London Stadium.

David Moyes knows he still has work to do though and a big decision may have to be made in January regarding the future of a young defender, who has perhaps not featured as much away from East London as he would have expected.

Respected fan site Claret & Hugh state that, despite a lack of first-team appearances, West Ham will not exercise their option to recall Reece Oxford from his loan spell in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach in the New Year.

The young English defender seems to have finally made his mark on the continent, with back-to-back starts for the German side, so West Ham will not bring him back. However, they’re also not keen on selling the youngster on a permanent basis.
