West Ham have turned a real corner under David Moyes and have risen out of the Premier League’s relegation zone with a run of three games unbeaten, including this weekend’s 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Stoke City.

The Hammers also defeated Chelsea and drew with Arsenal during that run, setting them up nicely for this week’s Carabao Cup quarter-final tie with the Gunners and a crucial double-header in the Premier League next week.

West Ham face both Newcastle and Bournemouth across just a few days and David Moyes will hope for his squad to be fit and ready to go, although there are a few players carrying some niggles as we edge towards the busy festive period.

Moyes revealed he is concerned about the fitness of Mark Noble, Marko Arnautovic and Pablo Zabaleta after the 3-0 win against Stoke, with all three players picking up small injuries during the victory in Staffordshire.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, the Scottish manager said:

“Obviously, there are a few dropping at the moment. Mark Noble has now got an injury, we had Zabaleta with a dead leg from early on in the game, so we are finding ourselves struggling for players.”

Even at the end, Marko Arnautovic had a calf strain so we had to bring him off for Chicharito to go on the right as we ran out of midfield players, even with Declan Rice coming on. We’re all mucking in, all doing their jobs and they are doing it well and defensively we have kept another clean sheet which is always good at the wrong end of the table.”

The trio may not be risked for the cup clash with Arsenal and face a race against time to be able to face-off against a struggling Newcastle United side this weekend.
