West Ham have endured a troubled start to the season, which has seen them sit 19th in the table and without a win since David Moyes’ appointment.

The Hammers now face a testing week ahead with clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal, which could leave David Moyes’ side in an even more concerning position as we edge towards the busy festive period.

Scottish boss Moyes is still yet to taste victory since taking charge in East London and his quest for a win is likely to stretch on, though one West Ham icon has given his seal of approval towards a successful season for the Hammers.

Speaking to TalkSport, former West Ham striker Carlton Cole said he believes the Hammers will avoid relegation this season. When asked if he thought they’d be relegated, Cole said he didn’t think so- then adding:

“We just need to get some momentum going. There’s definitely a hard period coming up, let’s just see the character of the team. The teams I’ve been in have had to dig in to get results.”

West Ham are currently three points adrift of safety but could see that margin extended in the week ahead, due to the huge clashes they face.
