West Ham are looking to bolster their options in attack when the January window reopens after struggling for consistency in front of goal so far this season.

The Hammers have seen their forward options fail to find consistency, with the absence of Javier Hernandez through injury certainly not helping matters within David Moyes’ side.

As such, it’s no surprise to see top-talents linked with a move to the London Stadium in January but West Ham may face competition in the market that they didn’t anticipate, which would certainly throw a spanner in the works.

The Daily MailĀ report that West Ham target Fyodor Smolov is also attracting the attention of back-to-back Champions League winners Real Madrid, who are also seeking to bolster their attacking options.

Smolov has excelled with six goals in his last five games for FC Krasnodar, whilst he also scored twice for World Cup hosts Russia in a 3-3 draw with Spain last month.

Those performances have seen a rise in interest in the 27-year-old and West Ham may have to brace themselves for disappointment.
