West Ham club captain Mark Noble has urged the fans to ‘stay with the team’ after their 7th defeat of the Premier League season at the weekend.

David Moyes, who was taking charge of his first game at the club since being appointed as the successor to the sacked Slaven Bilic, saw his side crumble to a 2-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, with goals from Will Hughes and Richarlison sealing the three points for the home side.

The result sees West Ham remain in the Premier League’s relegation zone having won only two of their 12 top flight games so far this season, however Mark Noble has pleaded with the fans to remain loyal despite what has been a rough start to the new campaign.

“It is a very difficult situation for us,” he said. “The fans show their emotions, and rightly so because they’re not happy and they pay a lot of money to come and watch us.

“But as much as we are not performing on the pitch at the minute, we need them to stick by us.

“I know it is hard, I know they are frustrated. We are too as players, because we know we’re better than what we’re showing, but I urge them to stick by us and hopefully the good times will come back.”

Despite the tough start however, Noble still believes the Hammers have what it takes to stay in the league, and expects David Moyes’ influence at the club to be felt in the coming weeks.

“We have got to stick together and work hard. As soon as you start having a go at each other, speaking behind each others backs it becomes hard.

“Do I believe we have got enough and are still going to be okay? Yes I do. But it is going to be tough and we need to play better than we did on Sunday.”
