West Ham are seeking to improve their ranks in the January transfer window and they look set to turn to the second-tier in an attempt to rejuvenate their side.

The Daily Mail claims the Hammers have joined the hunt for Reading defender Liam Moore, who’s also attracting interest from Stoke City, Celtic and West Brom.

24-year-old Moore joined the club from Leicester City last year and has since become a crucial part of Jaap Stam’s defence, making 58 appearances and becoming versatile as he’s learned to ply his trade on the right-side of defence as well as in the centre.

His performances have attracted plenty of suitors and Reading can expect a hefty profit on the £1.3m they paid for his services- and Moore would likely be keen on a move, with the Royals not showing any signs of pushing for promotion.

New Hammers boss David Moyes is seeking younger talent to rejuvenate his struggling side but the battle for Moore’s signature will be fierce, particularly as Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic can offer Champions League football.
