David Moyes is reportedly eyeing Brighton star Lewis Dunk as his first signing as West Ham manager, reports Team Talk.

The Scot, who was appointed as Slaven Bilic’s successor at the London Stadium earlier in the month, is looking to strengthen his back line this January after what has been a poor start to the season defensively.

Under Bilic, the Hammers have conceded more goals in the Premier League than other side this season, having leaked 23 goals in only 11 games.

Now, Moyes will turn to Dunk as a potential answer to his problems at the back.

Dunk, 25, has received plenty of praise for his performances this season for Chris Hughton’s side, and has been has been heavily touted for an England call-up before the Russia 2018 World Cup.

However, with the defender having penned a new five-year-deal with the Seagulls as recently as August, Brighton are likely to demand a huge fee for a player they consider to be one of their most valuable assets.

Brighton-born Dunk has racked up 180 appearances for the Seagulls since making his debut seven years ago.
