Tottenham are monitoring the situation of West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini, and could be ready to make an audacious move for the Argentine as soon as January, reports TalkSPORT, much to the dismay of the Claret and Blue army.
West Ham have had a difficult start to the season, with Lanzini missing out on much of the action thus far through injury, and their poor start as led to rumours that a number of the club’s key players could be on their way out of East London after the New Year.
The latest name to make that list is none other than Lanzini, who was arguably the Hammers’ stand-out player in what was a poor previous campaign.
Linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer, it is now Spurs who are eyeing the Argentina international, with boss Mauricio Pochettino reportedly a big fan of the 24-year-old star, and looking to tempt him across London in January as he looks to bolster his squad to mount a challenge for the Premier League title.
Valued at £30 million by the Hammers, Spurs would have to pay over the odds, however if they do, it’s fair to say the West Ham fans would not be best pleased …
Selling Lanzini would be a terrible mistake. Selling him to Tottenham would be an unforgivable betrayal.
