West Ham have struggled so far this season and are still awaiting their first victory under David Moyes, having lost to Watford and drawn with Leicester City at the weekend.

The Hammers have at least shown improvements in those matches and there’s an increasing sense of optimism surrounding the club, which could aid them in the battle to avoid the drop- starting tomorrow night.

Moyes’ side face a crucial game against fellow strugglers Everton, with the Scottish boss returning to face his former side, and one pundit believes he will be the happier of the two managers tomorrow evening as he predicts a win for the Hammers.

Writing in his predictions for the BBCformer Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has backed the Hammers for a 1-0 win and said:

“Everton capitulated again against Southampton on Sunday and it is difficult to see them getting a new manager in time for this game, even though it is more than five weeks since Ronald Koeman was sacked.”

“The Toffees are still struggling to score goals but it is at the back where they have the biggest problems. They are all over the place. They have conceded at least two goals in each of their seven games under caretaker boss David Unsworth, and have shipped 11 goals in their past three matches. Even West Ham’s defence is not that bad.”

Victory for the Hammers would be enough to lift the Hammers out of the bottom three as they would leapfrog the Toffees in the Premier League standings.
