West Ham boss David Moyes is eyeing victory against Watford this weekend in what will be his 500th Premier League game as a manager.

Not only with the trip to Vicarage Road mark the Scotsman’s half-century of top flight games, but also his first in charge of West Ham after being appointed as the successor to Slaven Bilic at the London Stadium early last week.

The former Sunderland and Everton boss says he hopes to mark both occasions with a victory against a struggling Watford side, who are without a win in three.

“Ultimately, they’ve got to be a bit more humble for each other, work for the team, and score goals together and defend together.” said Moyes talking on his side can emerge with three points at the weekend.

“We must start from scratch and give the players a chance to start again.”

In reaching 500 games,  Moyes becomes only the fourth manager is history to do so in the Premier League, with only Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp reaching that feat before him.

“I don’t necessarily take my own individual milestones as anything that important. Maybe after you finish when you look back.” he said.

“I’d love to get to 1,000 games. It is a great achievement to manage 1,000 games at no matter what level.”
