West Ham striker Diafra Sakho has revealed he still wants out of the East London club following his failed summer switch to Ligue 1 side Rennes.

The Senegal star travelled to France to complete a medical and agree personal terms with the Ligue 1 side on deadline day, only to have his moved blocked by club owners David Gold and David Sullivan, who insisted he was to stay at the London Stadium and was very much part of Slaven Bilic’s first team plans.

However after a poor start to the season from the Hammers and Sakho being given limited first team action, the striker has revealed he still intends to leave the club this summer.

“I still want to leave,” Sakho told French journalist Claude Atcheba.

“I always say it. I don’t hide it. Fans happy or not, I want to change environment. I want to see something else in regard to everything that happened to me. I spent three wonderful years at West Ham.

“Even more I learned that I was the best goal-scorers in activity in regards of all games I played. I can only be happy but overall I want to change my environment to see other things, and I think going to France would be good to find a challenge for my career.

“And why not one day come back here or somewhere else but today I want to change my environment.”
