Fans have lamented West Ham striker Diafra Sakho after he revealed he still wants out of the East London.
The Senegal star travelled to France to complete a medical and agree personal terms with Ligue 1 side Rennes on deadline day, only to have his moved blocked by club owners David Gold and David Sullivan, who insisted he was to stay at the London Stadium and was very much part of Slaven Bilic’s first team plans.
However after a poor start to the season from the Hammers and Sakho being given limited first team action, the striker has revealed he still intends to leave the club this summer.
“I still want to leave,” Sakho told French journalist Claude Atcheba.
“I always say it. I don’t hide it. Fans happy or not, I want to change environment. I want to see something else in regard to everything that happened to me. I spent three wonderful years at West Ham.”
Sakho is currently the clubs joint top scorer with 3 goals, however has a far superior goals:minute ratio than any of the club’s other frontmen. His good form however has not been enough to warrant him a regular slot in Slaven Bilic’s starting XI, leading him to want out of the London Stadium.
“Even more I learned that I was the best goal-scorers in activity in regards of all games I played. I can only be happy but overall I want to change my environment to see other things, and I think going to France would be good to find a challenge for my career.
“And why not one day come back here or somewhere else but today I want to change my environment.”
West Ham fans aren’t happy, although there are a few who think the club should do all they can to keep hold of the Senegalese hitman …
Diafra Sakho shouldn't even make the bench for West Ham anymore, Martinez should be given his place.
