The Sun are reporting that West Ham have lined up Zenit St Petersburg manager Roberto Mancini as a potential replacement for current boss Slaven Bilic.
The Hammers’ devastating 3-0 home defeat to newly promoted Brighton on Friday night has prompted further talk of the club sacking Bilic and bringing in a new name.
Mancini, a Premier League title winner with Manchester City, has been linked with the job at the London stadium at various points over the last year, and the Sun believe that the West Ham board may target the Italian along with another former City manager
Manuel Pellegrini is currently in charge of Chinese Super League outfit Hebei China Fortune, and the Chilean is also reportedly being considered for the role.
For the time being, Bilic remains in charge, and it is believed that he will be given the next two matches, against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and Crystal Palace in the league, to turn things around.
Here is some of the reaction on Twitter to the club being linked with Mancini.
Why are people suggesting Mancini? He’s been average at Zenit & they’re in a league on their own.. #WHUFC
