West Ham are eyeing a move for Sunderland star Didier Ndong as talks over the transfer of Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho continue to make no progress, reports the Independent.
The Hammers have been heavily linked with a move for Carvalho over the past weeks, and despite the Portugal international’s desire to move to the London Stadium, the two clubs failure to reach an agreement over a suitable fee means no such deal has materialised.
With West Ham reportedly around Β£8 millon apart in their valuation of Carvalho from his current club, Slaven Bilic will now turn his attention to Sunderland star Ndong as an alternative to Carvalho.
Ndong was relegated with Sunderland last season after joining them from Ligue 1 side Lorient in the summer of 2016, but could be set to leave the Stadium of Light for a second chance of Premier League football.
Should the Hammers fail to sign Carvalho in the coming days, they will instead focus on bringing in the Gabon international before the end of the month.
West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts, and most aren’t too happy …

Don't sign Ndong. His name should be replacing Big Ben, not Obiang.
