West Ham have lay down the law over the transfer of Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho as the Portuguese side ponder over the club’s most recent offer.

The Hammer’s most recent bid – $30 million plus add on which could take it as high as $42 million – is the biggest offer the Portuguese club has ever received for the player, however they still remain reluctant to sell and continue to move the goalposts over their asking price for the sought after midfielder.

A deal is thought to have been completed on two separate occasions, only for representatives of the Liga NOS side to reevaluate at the final moment. Carvalho has reportedly already agreed personal terms with West Ham.

After the most recent bid, sources at Claret&Hugh state that it will be the Hammers last as the club “a line has to be drawn”.

A move for the player is still expected to be completed within the next week.
