William Carvahlo has agreed a five year deal with West Ham United, reports the Daily Express.

The Portugal international has put pen to paper, agreeing to a long term contract with the Hammers ahead of his proposed move to the London Stadium.

Despite agreeing the deal however, Carvalho still firmly remains a Sporting Lisbon player, with the two clubs unable to settle a fee for the sought after midfielder. The Portuguese club have continually moved the goal-posts with regards to a potential sum, and most recently increased their demands to £40 million – £8 million off the £32 million the Hammers have currently tabled.

Carvalho is understood to be desperate for the move to go through in the coming days, and has reportedly resorted to refusing to train with the Liga NOS side in an attempt to push the deal through.

Should the Portugal star join the Hammers, it would be the second time this summer the East London side have broken their current transfer record, with Marko Arnautovic already signing for around £25 million earlier this summer.
