David De Gea – 6.5/10
Not often tested but made a smart save to deny Edmilison Fernandes late in the second half when he cold have been switched off. Excellent distribution to get United on the counter.

Antonio Valencia – 7/10
Didn’t get forward as much as he had perhaps hoped, but the Ecuador international was generally untroubled out-wide by Marko Arnautovic.

Eric Bailly – 7/10
Muscled Javier Hernandez out of the game, but was later booked for a foul on the Mexican. Dominant in defence and defended set pieces excellently.

Phil Jones – 7/10
Impressive performance from the stand-in centre half who made some excellent challenges throughout including a crunching effort on Arnautovic.

Daley Blind – 6.5/10
Went close with a volley and did well to get up and down the pitch for the full 90 minutes. Set-piece delivery was hit-and-miss.

Nemanja Matic – 9/10
Antonio Conte will be kicking himself after that display from the Serbian, who was the lynch pin in United’s midfield, breaking up the play and providing excellent distribution going forward.

Paul Pogba – 8.5/10
Matic’s presence allowed the Frenchman to get forward more often and gave him freedom to show his trick and flicks. Showed some sublime touches and found the back of the net late on.

Juan Mata – 7.0/10
Started brightly running in behind the West Ham defence on multiple occasions however his influence dwindled as the game went on.

Marcus Rashford – 8/10
Excellent second half from the Englishman who can count himself unlucky not to have got on the scoresheet after hitting the woodwork. Brilliant assist to open the scoring.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 7.5/10
Provided two assists for Lukaku’s second and Anthony Martial’s goal, and was lively throughout. Drifted around the pitch which made it difficult for the West Ham defence.

Romelu Lukaku – 9/10
Dream start for the Belgian in Red. Should have had a debut hat-trick, but caused problems for the Hammers all afternoon with his powerful running and movement.
