West Ham United Ladies Football Club (West Ham United L.F.C) is an international British women’s football club which is lined to West Ham United. The club was formed in 1991 and their start-up matches were played at Aveley’s Thurrock football stadium.

The history of the club goes back in the 70s, however it was a shorted-lived appearance. The real establishment of West United L.F.C began in early 1991, when Roger Morgan thought of bringing lady players to the club. After few coaching sessions to recruit local players with the help of John Greenacre, the club played its first friendly match on the 29th of March 1992. Unfortunately, the match was lost to the Barnet ladies. However, the team still entered the Greater London Women’s Regional League and played into one of the divisions. On the 27th of September 1992, they gained their first victory against Hackney ‘B’ with a score of 5-1. Within the same season, they earned their place in division two and quickly escalated in the 3rd position on Division one.

Indeed, it is quite a matter of pride to see women excelling in the sports field, specifically in the football world. From 1991 to 2001, the team played throughout the 13 seasons and reached the FA Women’s Premier League. Helped by their new coach Alex Bonner in the season 2007- 2008, they re-build their team and took new players which used to play for the junior team.

Despite not always being the winners, West Ham United L.F.C played for the Essex FA County Cup Final, FA Woman’s Premier League Cup and FA Woman’s Premier League Southern Division for two seasons. In 2014-15 season, the team finished at the 6th place, plus played for the London FA Capital Women’s Cup Final. By 2015, the club also created its first Learning Academy under the chairmanship of Stephen Hunt.

Currently the team consists of Aditi Chauhan as Goalkeeper, Katie Bottom as a Defender, Danniella Ritson and Olivia Sammons as Midfielders and Whitney Locked as a Forward.
