West Ham’s dismal start to the Premier League season continued on Saturday at St James Park as the Hammers fell victim to their third defeat in as many top flight games against Newcastle United.
Summer signing Joselu opened the scoring with his first goal for the Magpies, before second half strikes from Ciaran Clark and Aleksandar Mitrovic secured all three points for the home side and in turn left the visitors without a Premier League point three games into the new season.
Slaven Bilic’s side lost their opening two games to Manchester United and Southampton respectively, and after Saturday’s defeat currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table.
Fans and mutuals alike had imagined the Hammers to have a solid start to the season considering their impressive work in the transfer market over the summer, however only a month into the campaign, it again looks as if the East London side will find themselves in a relegation battle.
The Claret and Blue army understandably haven’t enjoyed what they have witnessed thus far, and have taken to Twitter to call for their side to make some more additions before the end of the week in an attempt to fix the rapidly sinking ship …
97 goals conceded in Bilic's last 51 PL games. 1 defender signed in this transfer window 🤦♂️

Typical westham! Don't forget no decent defence coaches either!! After internationals this number will be worse unless we start signing!!

£8m for Fonte and then go and sign Sakho. Simple.

The fact that Bilic thinks this squad is good enough is a sackable offence. 13 players departed, just 5 brought in. No depth at all.

We have 2 wingers. Antonio & Arnautovic. How can Bilic possibly say we have enough? Need so much more
