Joe Hart made the dream of Altona 93 keeper Joshua Du Preez come true earlier this week after the England number one swapped jersey’s with the South African shot stopper.

Du Preez, who was unsuccessful during his trials in England as a youth with Charlton, took to Instagram to message Hart before the game. The 24-year-old’s message read: “We play against each other on Tuesday. I am the goalkeeper from Altona 93 so we will see each other soon. Was hoping we could swap jerseys after the game. You have been my goalkeeping hero since I was 12, so would be an honour!”

Not one to disappoint, Hart willingly fulfilled Du Preez’s request, and even took to the social media channel again to share a heart warming post after the thrilling 3-3 draw between the two sides.

“It was a pleasure to meet you. Appreciated your msg before the game. Congratulations for the match and good luck for the season, I will be watching #gkunion #COYI” read Hart’s post following the game.

Du Preez, who is a part time florist, said: “For me this was a dream come true. Since I was a little kid, I’ve always wanted to play against a Premier League team and I never thought it would really happen, but here we are!

“It was very exciting chatting to him for a few minutes, too, and if he’s got a girlfriend in Cape Town and he wants some flowers delivered, I’m his man!”
